As I continue my mission to find the best defense against malware, I have come across a software company called IObit. One of my concerns with IObit is technical support. They offer a knowledge base forum along with FAQs. I could not find a phone number to contact them about several concerns that I have. It is a free download for home use, but your computer must be scanned manually. IObit 360 Pro edition offers scheduled scans as an option along with automatic updates.
I try to stay positive with my blogs, so if you want to read how IObit 360 performs against malware infections, please read the review in PC Magazine. This is another reactive type of antivirus software. Since I have switched to a proactive antivirus solution, I have not had any concerns about malicious software. Personally, I have not had a positive experience with any free antivirus software.
IObit performs a full scan in less than half the amount of time my proactive software. This concerns me, as I would rather have a longer scan of my system that removes everything, than a shorter scan that may not. Furthermore, once a threat is logged as detected, it should be removed. This is not the case with many antivirus programs.
To my knowledge, IObit has twelve different software programs. Eight of them are a free download, while the other four are products for purchase. My advice about this antivirus software, or any other free antivirus software, is to always do research before downloading the product. You may find that spending a little money to protect your computer system could be the best answer; in my case it was.
It is only fair that I provide a link to the IObit website. If you download the software, please comment if you have a good or bad experience. The more information that we share with each other, the better off we all will be.

Thanks for this info Jeff! Look forward to more product reviews like this!
Your banner makes me think about all this “near free” “cloud drive” storage space too!
Yes, as you may have already assumed, I am just and old conspiracy theorist.
Regarding your comment in your above article “Does IObit Concern You A Bit?”, Iobit has a contact number listed on their website for Free technical phone support 1-866-712-1004
(If you can get someone)
I always put iobit on my new computers. It’s good to have and use regularly, running a program like iobit gets rid of cookies and other things that make it more likely that you will get a virus, but in and of itself is not really protection. It’s like taking cough syrup if you have a cold, it usually works, but it doesn’t always solve the problem.
The company has an excellent program called “game booster” which hardcore gamers and causal gamers use alike to boost pc’s for gaming performance.
I too use IObit, have for years. I find it may not be the greastest for virus detections but the Advanced System Care which is also free from IObit is really good for maintanance. Cleaning junk files, security threats, defragmenting etc.
I have been using the free versions for a whil, and have been satisfied, although lately they seem to be getting a bit more aggressive with getting you to update to the pay version, and i cannot get ahold of a live person , unless you have a paid version
I have not trusted IObit since they were caught stealing definitions from MalwareBytes, and besides, why trust a program from China? (Before I catch hate on that, do your research on Chinese-US Cybercrime and such).
Anyway, just saying, there’s lots of better programs (Comodo System Cleaner, CCleaner, Defraggler, MyDefrag, Spybot, Emsisoft, I could go on and on), made by more reputable companies with better reputations.
I’d recommend staying away from IObit’s shady wares.
I tried to upgrade because I liked the free version so much and it was on sale. I never received the download with the registration number. No response from five emails to them asking for help getting the download. Finally, when the credit card bill came, I had to dispute the charge to get my money back.
DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY
previous install of IObit system care requested an update. It added IoBit toolbar 5.1 without notification and changed the serch engine to Yahoo.UK as well as adding 4 other .UK search engines. I am Very unhappy with this type of underhanded tampering to my system – It leads me to wonder what other shady things they have done to my system.
YES, I HAVE BEEN HAVING TROUBLE W/AVANGATE & IObit IN REGARDS TO GETTING A PHONE ANSWERED BY ANYONE. AS I CHECKED MY AMEX BILL, THERE WAS A BILLING CHARGE FROM AVANGATE. AFTER @ LEAST 5 HRS I FINALLY GOT AN EMAIL REPLY FROM AVG SAYING I REQUESTED A PASSWORD CHANGE. NO, I JUST WANTED TO FIND OUT WHY I DIDN’T GET ANY CONFIRMATION. I HAVE HAD TROUBLE WITH MY ORIGINAL PURCHASE 2/1/2011. AVG SAYS T0 CONTACT IObit.com & WHEN YOU GO TO IObit.com, IT SAYS TO SEND EMAIL TO IObit.com/customer service. ??? IS THIS ANYWAY TO RUN A BUSINESS…OR IS IT A SCAM? I BOUGHT IT LAST YEAR BECAUSE CNET MAG SAID IT WAS A GOOD PROGRAM. SORRY, I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY.
